Corona epidemic and border tensions: Jinping’s order to evacuate Chinese from India.
Amid growing tensions on the border and controversy over the Corona, China has decided to expel its citizens from India. The information has been given in a public notice from the Chinese embassy in New Delhi. The embassy said in a notice on its website that students, tourists and those stranded in India would be allowed to return to China special flights. Accurate information on how many Chinese nationals are currently studying or working in India is not available.
Citizens wishing to return to China are required to register the morning of May 27. It also includes Chinese nationals who came to India for yoga or for Buddhist circuit pilgrimage. It was not immediately clear when or where the special aircraft would take off. While tensions with India on the border are rising, China has issued such a notice.
China said in a Mandarin-language notice on Monday that those wishing to return would have to pay their own rent and 14 days of quarantine. “People who are infected with the corona or who have these symptoms will not be allowed on board,” the notice said. People living close to the Covid-19 patient and whose body temperature is above 37.3 degrees Celsius will not be allowed to travel. People have been warned not to hide their medical history.
